The weather took its toll on fixtures for the u15s and it was almost a whole month until another game was played. This was the return fixture with Golden Hill who had been unfortunate to be on the losing side by such a heavy scoreline at Longford Lane earlier on in the season, and it was clear to see from the outset that they were out to set the record straight.
In all honesty, they controlled the game from start to finish and apart from a couple of half-chances in the first half for ‘Levens, the hosts went into the break with a deserved 2-0 lead. It was more of the same in the second half and ‘Levens were overrun in midfield as the play became stretched and Golden Hill added two more goals towards the end of the game to ensure they got their revenge. A late consolation goal from Ben with the last kick of the game did nothing to brighten the mood and serious questions were asked in the inquest. Simply not good enough on the day and it is probably best to forget this and move on.
