Unlucky Levens Lose Out To Frampton

Longlevens u15s were looking to bounce back against a strong Frampton side following the previous week’s outing at Broadwell. Frampton started the strongest in this game and were controlling possession in the opening exchanges without making any clear cut chances.

As the match progressed, Longlevens grew stronger and the match became more even. However, Frampton took the lead and then soon after made it 2-0 which was harsh on the hosts as they continued to battle away. Midway through the 2nd half, Levens did eventually reduce the deficit. After some good build-up play from Geyni on the right-hand side, the ball came to Jae who found himself one on one with the goalkeeper and he made no mistake.

This seemed to give Longlevens some belief and the momentum of the game shifted. ‘Levens, created some good chances on the counter and looked the more likely to score however the game was taken away from them in the last few minutes when an attempted clearance by Jae was adjudged to have hit him on the arm and Frampton were harshly awarded a far from deserved penalty. This was duly dispatched and the game ended 3-1 in the visitors’ favour.
