A thoroughly disappointing match at Broadwell saw the U15s suffer a heavy loss. Having won the corresponding fixture earlier in the season, Levens went into this match with high hopes of doing the double over historically difficult opponents.
The match started evenly and both sides were competitive and created chances. It continued this way until just before the interval when Broadwell took the lead which they just about deserved. However, the disappointment of going a goal down so close to half time was evident and the Longlevens heads dropped, so much so that, in a crazy 2 minutes Broadwell managed to score 3 further goals to go in 4-0 up and effectively end the match as a contest.
Although the second half played out in a similar fashion, with both sides competitive, Broadwell were able to extend their lead to 6 until Jae was able to score a late consolation from Ben’s freekick. A disappointing result.
