Third team take another step towards the title.

Longlevens first team are still searching for their first win since January. The latest defeat came at the hands of Ascot United after a narrow 1-0 defeat.

A 65th minute winner sealed the fate of Longlevens.

Longlevens Reserves banished their recent heavy defeat at the hands of Charlton Rovers with a fine display against Cam Bulldogs.

Two goals from talisman Connor Linham, Brad Barnard and Filton Gardener rounded off an impressive 4-1 victory at Longford Lane. Forward Dan Linham made his full debut showing his natural quality with intelegent movement off the ball.

Connor Linham consolidates his position as the sides leading scorer with a brace of goals. A clinical headed finish from from a pin point Filton Gardener cross and a lobbed one on one finish to complete proceedings on 85 minutes

Filton Gardener introduced to the match on 65 minutes proved to be a complete game changer with ruthless running in the final third capped a quality contribution with a fine finish rammed in off the underside of the visitors crossbar.

Brad Barnard, relishing the responsibility of a central midfield role, netted from close range to open levens account. Two top drawer saves late on from Liam Best helped to keep the visitors at bay.

After match thoughts of manager Andy Davies.

“An excellent performance to bounce back after the Charlton Rovers game against a good side in Cam. Filton Gardener was just unplayable. It's his birthday today. The blokes 36, he's been 36 for the last 4 years! A marvelous example that class is permanent”

The third team experienced a “much better performance” this weekend , being the description of joint managers English & Macdonald. They eventually ran out 7-1 winners against Eastcombe to avenge their opening day defeat.

“We had to play on a small this week and both teams struggled with it early on, we realised quicker than Eastcombe that it's hard to play free flowing football on there and we made sure our lads went back to basics quickly. We made use of the long throw to very good effect. Certainly not pretty football this week but all about the points for us at this stage of the season”

The experienced duo of Nick Bradley and Andy Trout were a constant threat up front with Bradley scoring x2 and Trout , with centre backs Nathan Walsh and Phil Webb provided the base of support for the side. Young midfielder Harry Emmetts breaking runs from midfield, proved too much for the opposition, allowing levens to run out comfortable winners.

Goals from; Nick Bradley x2, Own goals x2, Antanas Brazdys, Tom Shaw &Andy Trout put Longelevens 4 games from winning the title.

Longlevens 4ths suffered a 2-1 loss away to Randwick Saturday. Although missing top players the 4ths still fielded enough quality to get all 3 points.

The first 30 minutes didn’t see much created by either team with the slope allowing any Randwick attack to fall out of play and the Hill making it difficult for Longlevens to get enough in the box from crosses.

Eventually Randwick broke the deadlock with goal from a free kick which was saved from keeper Lee Manton and bundled over the line eventually.

Second half was much of the same and Longlevens could not find any momentum even with a change of personnel and formation. The visitors found themselves 2-0 down after being caught on the break.

After this the 4ths showed glimpses of good play and found the back of the net late on through Adam Araujo.

Thoroughly deserved win for Randwick and only real positive to come from the game was man of the match, 17 year old youth player Callum Ashursts cool and calm performance at Centre half.
