First team hammered, whilst third team extend their lead at the top.

On what was originally billed as a busy Easter weekend schedule, the persistent rain leading into it put pay to two of the 5 games scheduled.

The second teams game at Sharpness and fourth teams game at Stroud Harriers fell to early pitch inspections.

The first teams game against Thatcham Town at Waterside park passed a 10am pitch inspection, however by the end of the afternoon manager Mark Moore would have wished that it hadn’t.

The Kingfishers eventually ran out 8-1 winners, including a hattrick of penalties from the leagues leading marksman, Shaun Cooper Clarke. Extending the sides winless run to two months.

Craig Martin got Longlevens back into the game with a lovely curled finish into the bottom corner from 20 yards, to make the score 3-1 at the break.

However, the second half saw the home side run riot and outplay Levens in all departments, scoring 5 without reply in the process. In truth it could of been more.

They now have an early chance to brush aside the result with a Bank Holiday game against Woodley United, if the forecasted rain it kept at bay.

There was more positive news for the third team, who returned to winning ways with a 6-0 home win against at Longford.

In an average performance, as described by managers English and MacDonald, Levens stretch their lead at the top of Stroud Division Two to four points as second place Rodborough didn’t play.

Goals from; Joe Pasquet, Rhys Lewis & 4 from Man of the Match Nick Bradley ensured the title is still well and truly in sight.
