‘Levens started this game strongly and dominated the opening exchanges. The pace of the counter-attacking from the ‘Levens boys should have seen us take a deserved lead into the break had the finishing been more clinical, but as it was it was the hosts who took the lead following a corner and went into the break with a slender lead in what was a closely fought contest.
The second half was fought in a similar way, but ‘Levens were undone midway through when they conceded 2 goals from 2 corners within the space of 3 minutes. This rather took the stuffing out of the team, but they kept pressing to get back in the game. Unfortunately, though it was the hosts who went further ahead with 10 minutes to go with a breakaway goal.
Shortly afterwards, Ben grabbed a goal to make it 4-1, following a flowing move down the right and he then had another chance a minute later which saw his shot hit the inside of the post, bounce along the goal line before hitting the opposite post before being scrambled away.
A goal in injury time sealed the win for Frampton in a game that was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests.
