'Levens Fitness Proves To Strong For Hucclecote
By Lee Panchbhaya
Hucclecote Away - 8th Sept 2018
The season got off to a flying start at King George V playing fields in Hucclecote. An early goal from Jae put Longlevens into a lead they deserved, but almost straight away Hucclecote were on level terms. Longlevens produced further chances but were unable to convert and we went into the break at 1-1.
Longlevens enjoyed the lions share of possession and chances but midway through second half conceded a free kick and it was spectacularly converted from distance giving Jonathan no chance. The boys were not downhearted and quickly set about to restore parity, which was achieved with 12 minutes to go when Phoenix muscled his way through to score at the near post.
Longlevens smelled blood and went all out to secure maximum points and with 5 minutes to go Ben was on the end of a low cross from the right to tap in at the far post. Hucclecote looked dejected and Levens’ preseason fitness training paid off as the added further goals from Kyrel, Phoenix and Ben.
A worthy away win and a great start to the season.
