Dans lead second team into Norther Senior League campaign

Exactly one year after the “two Dans” (English & MacDonald) lead the clubs third team into Stroud League and District division two for the first time, the pair are facing a new challenge, this time with the clubs reserve team.

Longlevens reserves kick off their Gloucestershire Northern Senior League division one campaign tonight, where they host former County League side Berkeley Town at Saw Mills, 7.30pm kick off.

Assistant Tom Read is looking forward to the campaign kick off; "We’re looking forward to the new season with the opportunity to progress from last season. A number of young players have been given an opportunity to progress from last seasons 3rd team and it is exciting to be able to progress them. We know this season will be a challenge in a competitive league, however we are confident in the squad we have is good enough to compete”

The side have had a good pre season pitting their wits against Westfields and recently promoted Hellenic One West side Newent Town.

“Tonight will be the acid test for us in so far as how we want the season to shape up”

Entry to tonights game at Saw Mills is FREE.

Reminder that the First Team travel to Holmer Green tomorrow in the Emerites FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round. Still spaces on the coach, which leaves Longford Lane at 11am.
