Levens beat Fairford 4-0 to seal progression in the Floodlit Cup.

Longlevens welcomed Fairford Town to Saw Mills for the third time this season, it was the fifth time the sides had met and the third competition in which they've faced up against each other.

This time it was the Perpetua Press Floodlit Cup that brought the sides together.

Fairford had the better of the early exchanges, managing to get the ball down and play on a greasy surface. Longlevens struggled to get into a passing rhythm, with the visitors pressing high and fast to make things harder for the home side.

It was the hosts who took the lead however, as Brad Martin set the ball nicely for Dave Merrick and he finished superbly past Hemmings into the top corner.

The second half was controlled by the home side, with shades of previous high scoring encounters between the two sides as Fairford struggled to cope with the direct ball.

Ultimately Longlevens could of scored more, but the visitors will have stand in keeper James Hemmings to thank that they didn't, as he thwarted; O'Connor, Merrick, Sklenar, Martin and Vanstone with some smart saves when faced one on one.

However second half goals from Jack Sklenar, and two late on from Brad Martin saw that the game was put to bed and puts Longlevens through into the 3rd round.

Longlevens: Wintle, Dunn, Smyllee, Kavanagh (c), Sausman, Long, Welch, Merrick, O'Connor (Byard 75), B Martin (Vanstone 70), Sklenar (C Martin 80) Subs; Turner, Kennedy

Longlevens return to league action on Saturday when they travel to Royal Wooten Bassett, 3pm Kick Off.
