Defender Craig Beaton chooses to play his football elsewhere.

Defender Craig Beaton has called time on his Longlevens tenure after six years with the football club.

During his time at Longlevens he won; the Gloucestershire County League twice, Les James Cup, Hellenic League Division One and the personal accolade of Managers Player of the Year, awarded to him by James French in the former first team managers penultimate year in charge.

Beaton also captained the first team on numerous occasions during his six years at the club.

“Its come to a time where simply the commitment needed to play Hellenic League football is too much and so i want to look for another challenge elsewhere”

“My small family is growing and the commitment in the week is getting harder and harder”

Beaton spent time on loan at County League side Hardwicke last season and this is expected to be the likely destination for the left back.

“I know a few lads there and enjoyed the games i played there last season, plus i’ve played there before”

Moore paid tribute to Beaton on his time at the club “he has been a great stalwart at the club and was a player that alot of the lads looked up to both on and off the field”

Longlevens start their pre-season preparations on Wednesday 20th June at Saw Mills End (first team ground) 6.30pm start.
